KATE MacKINNON, CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST

Kate has 22 years experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist and couples therapist, and has been registered as a psychologist for the past 16 years.  She is experienced in individual therapy, couples counselling, family, and child counselling.

Kate is passionate about working with couples to improve their relationships and is accredited to provide  marriage/relationship preparation programs for couples planning to marry or live together and couples for who are already living together who want to enhance and enrich their relationship. Couples who have been together for many years have also found these well researched programs highly beneficial.

Kate has been in private practice, in Mosman over 16 years. She has a passion for her clinical work and running a highly respected and ethical practice. Kate incorporates positive psychology interventions into her work with individuals, couples and families. She also works with children coping with family and social issues.

Kate has conducted research into the enhancement of evidence based practice with positive psychology interventions. (See her research paper “Integrating Schema-Based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy with a Strengths Based Approach”  elswhere on this site). Kate is also qualified to supervise psychologists and counsellors in private practice and other clinical settings.

PATRICIA KIELY, CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST

unnamedKate is pleased to have Patricia working with her as an associate in the practice. Patricia has a Masters of Clinical Psychology and has been actively involved in clinical practice, training and assessment for over 38 years. She is a Member of the Clinical College of the Australian Psychological Society and a trainer and supervisor and educator. Patricia works with adults, couples, children and families and has expertise in assessment and treatment for clinical issues including ADHD, depression, anxiety, stress, grief and loss, trauma, relationship and couples issues, parenting concerns and work related issues.

Patricia brings a great deal of expertise and knowledge to MacKinnon Psychology and it’s clients. She has written and delivered professional accredited training and has published and presented a number of papers at national and international conferences.
